Where the answers come from

We only name a battery when the manufacturer's own, current document lists it for that exact model.

Schneider Electric FAQ for APC

What is the Replacement Battery for my Back-UPS in USA and Canada?. Scope: USA and Canada. Last modified August 5, 2026. Last checked October 17, 2026. We copy each model exactly as the table shows it, and we never reuse one model's answer for another with a similar name.

What we leave out

  • Voltage, chemistry, connector, and polarity. The FAQ doesn't list them, so we don't either.
  • If a model isn't in that FAQ, we don't name a battery for it, even if an older Schneider Electric catalog did.
  • A region or revision suffix makes a different model. BE650G1 and BE650G1-CN are both here because the FAQ lists both, not because the names look alike.
  • When Schneider Electric says the battery isn't user-replaceable, we say so and don't name a battery.
  • CyberPower CP1500AVRLCD, CP1500PFCLCD, and CP1350PFCLCD each have their own datasheet. Each one names two batteries, and the serial prefix tells you which. CP1500AVRLCD3 names RB1290X2E. CPS1500AVR names RB1270X4F and says you can replace the battery yourself. CP685AVR names RB1280. CP1000AVRLCD and CP900AVR aren't here because their datasheet, manual, and product page do not agree on one cartridge rule.
  • Eaton answers come from Eaton's USA replacement selector. Each one names a part and a quantity. We leave out the price, size, and weight, along with ranges, whole product families, and external battery modules.
  • Tripp Lite models from that same selector are listed under Tripp Lite, not Eaton. We leave out the external battery packs in those Tripp Lite ranges.
  • Vertiv answers for Liebert PSI5 come from Vertiv's PSI5 datasheet table of internal battery kits. The (N) network-card variants use the same kit as the base model. Lithium-ion models and external battery cabinets are not listed here.
  • Minuteman answers come from Minuteman's own replacement-battery product pages. External battery packs and bare cells are not listed here. When a product page's Additional information attributes conflict with the title and Model field, the title and Model field control.

Things we'll never suggest

We'll never suggest rewiring a battery pack, changing chemistry, swapping polarity, or bypassing a fuse. If the manufacturer says the battery isn't user-replaceable, contact them for service.
